I had watched this movie made by director VISHWANATH some thiry years back. And it was a great movie. I was in the north at that time and even my north Indian friends who didnt knew a word of Telugu watched this movie. Last week I saw the movie again on the CD. For the first time I was seeing a movie where the protogonist is not a action hero but an elderly person devoted to classical music. The story is about how classical singer Shanker Shastry's devotion to music takes him to great height's of name and fame. Then with time the interests of people move towards western and other music so much so that they start ignoring the classical music and even make fun of Shastryji. But he had one fan who makes sure that the legacy of Shastry passes on. Limited but powerful dialogues, wonderful songs, captivating performance by  actors Somayajulu and Manju Bhargavi made the movie memorable.
